Archery
Ranged combat with bows and crossbows. Archery rewards positioning, patience, and precision. A master archer can thin a crowd before the enemy reaches melee range.
Weapon categories
- Shortbows — fast draw speed. Mobile, can fire while moving. Shorter range. Skill 0—100.
- Longbows — slow draw, long range, high damage. Requires stationary stance. Skill 30—100.
- Crossbows — very slow reload but highest damage per shot. Armor piercing. Skill 50—100.
Combat bonuses by skill
- 60 Archery — Quick Shot: fire immediately at reduced damage. Interrupts caster enemies.
- 70 Archery — Aimed Shot: next shot gains +50% range and +30% damage. 3-second channel.
- 80 Archery — Volley: fire a spread of arrows in a cone. Hits up to 5 targets.
- 90 Archery — Sniper's Focus: standing still for 3 seconds grants +40% critical hit chance on next shot.
- 100 Archery — Piercing Shot: arrow passes through all targets in a line. Ignores 50% armor.
Ammunition and gear
- Arrows and bolts are crafted via Carpentry. Higher-tier materials grant bonus damage.
- Quiver capacity scales with Archery skill: 40 arrows at 0, 80 at 100.
- Special ammunition (broadhead, bodkin, fire arrows) unlocked at 40/60/80 Archery.
Synergies
- Archery + Hiding: Ambush — first shot from hiding deals 2× damage and cannot miss.
- Archery + Tactics: called shots — mark a specific body part for bonus effects (slow, bleed, disarm).
- Archery + Carpentry: craft your own bows and ammunition at reduced material cost.
