Success rate at 100 skill. Tool quality bonuses can improve effective success rate. At higher skill levels, only rarer resource tiers grant skill gain.
Fishing zones
- Shoreline — tier 1—3 fish. Safe, accessible from any coastal area.
- River runs — tier 2—5 fish. Flowing water yields higher catch rates.
- Open sea — tier 4—7 fish. Requires a boat. Sea monsters patrol deeper waters.
- Abyssal depths — tier 6—8 fish. Requires deep-water vessel. Extreme danger.
Catch mechanics
- Cast time decreases at 50, 70, and 90 Fishing.
- Special catches include treasure maps, message bottles, and ancient relics.
- Fish quality affects cooking results — higher-tier fish grant stronger buffs.
