Mining

Press E while holding a pickaxe to mine ore nodes within your interaction radius. Nodes randomize on respawn — rarer ores appear less frequently. Your effective skill and pickaxe quality determine success.

Success rate at 100 skill. Tool quality bonuses can improve effective success rate. At higher skill levels, only rarer resource tiers grant skill gain.

How mining works

  • Press E with a pickaxe equipped to mine all ore nodes within your interaction radius.
  • Nodes randomize on respawn. Each node has a chance to uncover a colored ore tier.
  • The chance for a node to be of a rarer color is not affected by other parameters.
  • If your effective Mining skill is below the ore's threshold, each swing falls back to Iron Ore.
  • When mining a colored ore node, each swing has a 50% chance to fall back to Iron Ore.
  • Mining within town regions is blocked. Nodes respawn over time — richer ores take longer.

Success formula

  • Success Chance = ((Mining Skill − Skill Threshold) ÷ Divisor) × (1 + Tool Bonus)
  • Effective Mining Skill = raw skill + Aspect bonuses + chain link bonuses.
  • Each ore tier has its own threshold and divisor. Lower-tier ores are easier to mine consistently.

Ore discovery rates

  • Iron — 55% base chance per node spawn.
  • Copper — 15% base chance per node spawn.
  • Steel — 10% base chance per node spawn.
  • Bronze — 7% base chance per node spawn.
  • Silver — 5% base chance per node spawn.
  • Gold — 3% base chance per node spawn.
  • Titanium — 2% base chance per node spawn.
  • Moon — 1% base chance per node spawn.

Colored pickaxes

  • Each ore tier pickaxe grants a stacking Tool Bonus to harvest success chance.
  • Iron Pickaxe: +0.00 bonus | 1,000 uses
  • Copper Pickaxe: +0.02 bonus | 1,250 uses
  • Steel Pickaxe: +0.04 bonus | 1,500 uses
  • Bronze Pickaxe: +0.06 bonus | 1,750 uses
  • Silver Pickaxe: +0.08 bonus | 2,000 uses
  • Gold Pickaxe: +0.10 bonus | 2,250 uses
  • Titanium Pickaxe: +0.12 bonus | 2,500 uses
  • Moon Pickaxe: +0.18 bonus | 3,000 uses
  • Exceptional quality: +0.04 bonus, +500 uses (stacks with material bonus).
  • Mastercrafted quality: +0.04 bonus, +500 uses (stacks with exceptional).

Smelting

  • Double-click ore within 2 tiles of a forge to smelt it into ingots.
  • Ore on pack animals can be smelted if the animal is within 2 tiles of a forge.
  • Smelting produces 2 ingots per ore.
  • You cannot smelt ore that you do not have sufficient Mining skill to harvest.

Combat bonuses

  • PvM — when attacking with a blunt weapon (mace, hammer), add Base Weapon Damage × (25% × (Mining Skill ÷ 100)) bonus damage per hit.
  • PvP — when attacking with a blunt weapon, add Base Weapon Damage × (10% × (Mining Skill ÷ 100)) bonus damage per hit.
  • This reflects the raw strength developed through years of swinging a pickaxe.

Ore resource maps

  • When using Ore Maps, search radius increases by 100% × (Mining Skill ÷ 100).
  • Higher Mining skill dramatically expands the area you can survey for ore deposits.

Training progression

  • 0—50: Train from an NPC miner.
  • 50—100: Mine overworld areas with a pickaxe. Any ore type grants skill gain.
  • 70—85: Only colored ore grants skill gain (Iron nodes do not).
  • 85—95: Colored ore EXCEPT Copper grants skill gain.
  • 95—100: Only Silver-tier and above grants skill gain.

Restrictions

  • After recalling, traveling via dream gate, or teleporting, there is a 60-second delay before harvesting.
  • A "Stationary Penalty" applies after recalling or long inactivity — you must move more than 5 steps before mining.
  • These restrictions prevent resource farming abuse across the dream world.

Ore lore

  • Iron — the commoner's metal. Rugged, heavy, and reliable.
  • Copper — soft but conductive; used for basic tools and early jewelry.
  • Steel — found in Keldrion as "Native Steel," a miracle of the dream's chemistry.
  • Bronze — a symbol of the "Old Guard." Extremely durable and corrosion-resistant.
  • Silver — the first "Noble" metal. Highly resistant to the blurring effects of the dream.
  • Gold — dense and magically resonant. It carries the weight of the world's wealth.
  • Titanium — a "Hard-Matter" ore. Incredible strength-to-weight ratio for elite warriors.
  • Moon Ore — said to fall from the sky. Pulses with a faint silver light under the dream-moon.
