Provoking
Taunt and enrage targets into attacking each other. In PvE, provoke monsters into fighting their own kind. In PvP, goad enemies into breaking formation.
Success mechanics
- Success chance = (Your Provoking / Target's Skill) × 100. Capped at 95%.
- Minimum success floor: 15% even against vastly higher-level targets.
- Cooldown: 10 seconds at 0 Provoking, 5 seconds at 100.
- Duration of provoked state: 10 seconds + 0.1 seconds per skill point.
PvE uses
- Provoke two monsters: they attack each other until one dies or duration expires.
- Provoke monster onto another player's target: redirect aggro.
- Pulling: provoke a single monster out of a group. Safer than ranged pull.
- Cleave: provoke a crowd into a tight cluster for AoE attacks.
PvP uses
- Force an enemy player to attack their ally for 2 seconds (reduced duration in PvP).
- Break formation: scatter tightly grouped defenders.
- Interrupt: provoking a casting player causes a brief stun.
- Countered by Peacemaking: Peacemaking dispels Provoking. Higher skill wins.
